Jimmy Doyle Nelson passed away at the age of 68 in Burnet, TX. Jimmy was born in Andrews, Texas to Doyle Nelson and Aubraleen (Tyler) Saucer. At the age of 18 Jimmy proudly joined the Army and served for two years. After his honorable discharge he came home and worked for over five years at Granite Mountain before working for his father’s concrete business, Nelson Concrete Construction. His love of all aspects of concrete construction was evident in the projects he was involved with, and he soon became renowned as the “go to” concrete man in the highland lakes area and beyond.
Jimmy loved to fish, watch football, listen to music and play golf. Jimmy would be out on the golf course any chance he had to play with family or friends. Jimmy never met a stranger, he could, and would talk to anyone, and you would have thought he would have known that person for years. Most importantly, is that he loved his family. He was never stingy with a “love you” but his actions spoke even louder than his words and he was always there to help when he was able to even if it meant he had to go without.
Jimmy is survived by his wife Diane, his daughters, Callie, Abriana, Miabella & son Noah of Burnet; daughters Shanna Tucker & husband Nat of Georgetown; Kimberly Stubblefield & husband Steven of Llano; son David Doyle Nelson & wife Caitlin of Marble Falls; brother Charles Nelson & wife Carla of Granite Shoals & sisters Kathy Padgett of Middleburg FL; B.J Schwartz of Granite Shoals & Latonnia Gripon & husband Greg of League City; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents Doyle B Nelson, Margaret (West) Nelson, Aubraleen (Tyler) & Tommy Saucer.
No service or viewing will be held as per Jimmy’s request. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 5th from 2:00 - 4:00 at 11011 CR 113 Llano, TX.
