Juan grew up in Mahomet in Burnet County where his parents owned a place there. He later lived in the Briggs area. Juan worked in construction and also had his own business shearing sheep in the local area. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and being outdoors.
Survivors include his children Terry Escamilla (Paul), Danny Deleon (Dawn Monk), Juan Daniel Deleon (Veronica Deleon), and Scott Eric Deleon (Victoria Deleon). Also surviving are his 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He is also survived by his sister Martha Deleon and his brothers Edward, Robert, and Frank.
Juan was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Susie Deleon, grandson Joseph Gauna, 4 brothers, Paul, Julian, Nick, and Valentine, and 4 sisters, Laura Mentoya, Penny Torres, Elisa Deleon Ledesma and Margaret Gonzales.
The visitation for Juan will be held Thursday, March 18th at 6 PM at the Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home and then the Rosary at 7 PM. The funeral service will be held on Friday, March 19 at 1:30 PM at the Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet. Burial will follow at the San Jose Cemetery near Andice.
