Krista Marie (Ferguson) Hartmann, age 36, of Devine, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, March 26, 2021, with her husband Will by her side. Krista was the first child born to Gary and Leta Ferguson, on December 27, 1984. Her brother, Douglas, followed several years later and completed their family. Krista and Douglas shared a deep bond and remained close through her entire life. Krista grew up in Burnet, Texas, graduating high school in 2003, and then moving to San Angelo to attend college. While living there she formed many lifelong friendships and met the love of her life, her soulmate, Will Hartmann. They married in Burnet on May 23, 2009. Krista was a dedicated military wife and supported Will throughout his career. While she would have followed him anywhere, she was forever grateful that his final assignment was in San Antonio, and they moved there in 2007. San Antonio was home for 10 years until Will’s retirement from the military, and in 2017 they moved to their forever home in Devine, Texas, where they lived in peaceful contentment in the country. Krista knew what she wanted in life. She loved to laugh and part of the fun of being with her was listening to her beautiful voice and laugh. She loved cooking for people and being in her kitchen, but those that knew her best knew to stay out of her kitchen! She was crafty and creative, spending weekends with her mom selling her beautiful creations at their shop and enjoying life together. She was an accomplished gardener – a skill she learned from her Pop and dad and something they enjoyed together. Her talents were countless, but her most important talent was her love for her husband, family and friends. She was the sounding board for so many people and was the rock for the people she loved. You knew Krista would answer if you called and would genuinely listen and give solid advice (even if you didn’t necessarily like it). Krista was a lot of things to a lot of people. She had a gentle, giving heart and a fire in her soul. She loved fiercely and was loyal to the end. Her husband, her family and her friends were her world. She was preceded in death by her beloved grandmother, Darla “Gran” Ferguson. She is survived by her loving, devoted husband, William Brandon Hartmann, of Devine; parents, Gary and Leta Ferguson of Burnet; brother Douglas Ferguson and wife, Colleen and adored nephew, Archer, of San Antonio; grandfather John “Pop” Ferguson and wife Pam of Burnet; numerous beloved aunts, uncles and cousins; loved in-laws Dave and Vicki Hartmann, of Bandera; Shawn Hartmann and Elizabeth Israel, of Hastings, Nebraska; Erica Hartmann and Alexander Toro, of Austin; Molly Hartmann and Dimitrios Miserlis; of San Antonio; and best friends, Michelle and Ben Plank and godson Elliott of Troy and LaBecca and Nick Buselli of San Angelo, TX. An open visitation is scheduled for Sunday, March 28, 2021 from 5-7 p.m. at Clements Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet, Texas. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Honorary pallbearers are Dave Hartmann, Shawn Hartmann, Nicholas Buselli, Benjamin Plank, Alexander Toro, Dimitrios Miserlis, Jason Davis, Brent Smith, Robert Griffith and Matt Weller. If you are so inclined to send flowers, Krista liked those that matched her personality – bright and cheerful.

Will, Gary, Leta, and family, I was so sad to hear about Krista’s passing. It seems like yesterday that she was a little girl snuggling next to me and reading books. She was so precious. I feel blessed to have gotten to reunite with her on FB and see what a wonderful life filled with so much love and joy that she had throughout the years. She was a force for good in this world.

Sending y’all love. 💗

We will all miss Krista and were shocked to hear the bad news of her loss. We know she will be with God and Jesus, however, her presence here on Earth will be greatly missed. I always enjoy seeing her work with her Mom, Lita, at the reunions. They seemed so happy. A memory I plan on keeping.

Gary, Leta, Doug &Will, we remember Krista as a little girl taking care of the younger Kids at family gatherings. She was a beautiful girl. Our heart goes out to each of you in your loss. She was taken from this earth way too soon.

Dear Will, Leta, Gary and family,
We are heartbroken for you all. As with so many that have gone on before us, we wish we could have spent more time with Krista (and you all). Thankfully, we do have some great memories of her and her infectious laugh and her sweet smile.
We know there is nothing we can do to ease your hearts but please know we are here if you need anything. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. One day, oh what rejoicing there will be.
Love you all,
