She was a resident of Houston before moving to Burnet in 1993. Her main occupation for over 22 years was working as an accomplished non-drinking bartender.
Patty will be remembered as a decorating icon and residential lighting contest winner. She loved to decorate for each and every holiday and was most proud of the Christmas lights. Patty and Mike won the Chamber of Commerce residential lighting contest in 2003, 2006 and 2008. She also received the Bluebonnet yard award in 2005. Patty was active in the community and the Burnet County Haunted House for several years. She was well loved and respected by her family and community. She was a beautiful soul, a thoughtful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend.
Patty is survived by her husband of over 30 years Mike Guess, daughter and son-in-law Tiffany and Carlos Cabarcas, grandchildren Riley, Shelby, and Mike (“Bam”), great-grandchild Decklen and his mother Mikayla. Also surviving are nieces and nephews Sam, Larry, Victor, Vincent, Angelica, and Brittany.
A visitation for Patty will be held Saturday evening March 9 from 6-8 pm at the Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home. Her funeral will be held Sunday afternoon March 10 at 3 with Minister Tim Denton officiating. Burial will follow at the Burnet City Cemetery.
