He leaves behind his wife, Melissa, who stood by his side and adored him for 13 years, and their three precious children Judd, Ruby, and Barrett.
We can only imagine the reunion with his loved ones who preceded him in death: his grandparents John and Marilyn Smith, and Alvin Wever; and his mom, Janice Wever.
He was a devoted husband and would have been happy if Melissa was the only person he saw for the rest of his life. He showed his love to Melissa and the kids by working hard to provide for them. He was generous and taught his children by example as he served at church.
A true entrepreneur and businessman, Blake enjoyed his career in real estate with Apex Realty. Those he worked with were more than just coworkers, they were also some of his closest friends. He thrived on finding a great deal and being creative. He loved large farm parcels, development and creating communities. Blake's dream of owning a bison farm became a reality when he founded Regal Bison Company.
From a young age, he loved watersports and spending summers on Gun Lake with his family. He felt closest to God in nature, and enjoyed hunting and being outdoors.
Blake will always be remembered with a smirk on his face and a contagious laugh. He took a positive approach to every situation and was always eager to learn.
Blake will always be lovingly remembered by his dad and stepmom Jack and Julie Wever; in-laws Harry and Barbara VanLaan; grandma and stepgrandpa Charlotte Wever and Marv Westmaas; siblings Kelly and Josh Hover, Christina and Mark Stone, Philip and Becky VanLaan, Eric and Brooke VanLaan, and Josh and Aubrey VanLaan; stepsiblings Brittney Bruin, Brandey and Chris Schurr, and Brooklyn Bruin; lifelong friends Mike and Angie Vander Ploeg; and many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends.
