

George Lee Knarr, age 90, went to be with his Lord and Savior June 3, 2025. He was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on September 29, 1934, and was the son of George and Margaret Knarr. He was preceded in death by his parents; former wife, Shana Nelson Knarr; and brothers John Knarr and Daniel Knarr. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Rosalie (Whitcomb) Knarr; children Karen (Randy) Schneider, George Knarr Jr., Daniel (Sheri) Knarr, Rob (Shannon) Knarr, Ryan (Sonya) Knarr; stepchildren Melissa (David) Dunn and Mark (Jodi) Whitcomb; 27 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters Margaret (Dennis) Dincau, Martha (Robert) Pierce; in-laws Laura Knarr, Peg Knarr; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He served in the transportation world in many management positions. George found out he had a few months to live, and this gave him time to reflect and share his faith with many. George loved the Lord. The family wishes to thank Corewell Health Hospice for the kind care that he received.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, June 13, 2025 at Cook Funeral Home (Byron Center Chapel), 2067 84th St. SW, Byron Center, MI 49315. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Heritage Christian Reformed Church, 3089 84th St. SW, Byron Center, MI 49315, with visitation from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the service. George will be laid to rest at Winchester Cemetery in Byron Center. In memory of George and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Corewell Health Hospice.
