James Arnold Simon, age 86, went to be with his Lord Tuesday, September 19, 2023. He will be remembered by his loving wife of 64 years, Judy Simon; daughters Susan (Paul) and Sharon; sons David (Lisa), Joseph (Sandy); grandchildren Brandon (Chelsea), Allison, Jason, Dillon, Jeff (Nicole), Kelli (Matt), Kristen (Jeff), Nicole (Russ), Brad (Sara), and Aubri; great-grandchildren Tyler, Rider, Case, Gage, Gunner, Drew, Zander, and Jonah; many nieces, nephews, and friends. James was preceded in death by his parents Nicholas and Lena Simon; and sister, Noraine Pitsch.
Jim was a sheet metal worker, but always enjoyed his time working on the family farm. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and teaching his grandchildren to fish. He always enjoyed a great fish fry with family and friends.
A Funeral Mass will commence 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 29, 2023 with visitation one hour prior at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 9408 Wilson Ave. SW, Byron Center, MI 49315. Msgr. William Duncan will be officiating. In honor of James and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Sebastian building fund. Interment will be at St. Sebastian Cemetery.
