After a brave and courageous battle with cancer, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at the age of 70. Loving husband to Margaret (nee Feeney) of 47 wonderful years, proud father to Aileen (Mark), Aine (Steve) and Liam, adoring Gangang and candy supplier to Declan and Connor, and dear brother to John and Helen of England. Predeceased by his parents Albert and Annie and siblings: Joan, Maureen, David and Peter, and parents-in-law Joseph and Babs. Albert will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by brothers-in-law: Tom (Tina), Joe (Ann), and sisters-in-law: Kay (Ted), Mary, and Barbara in addition to numerous nieces and nephews in England, Canada and Australia. He will also be missed by friends and his faith community at St. Gregory’s Parish. Albert was steadfast in all he did. He had unwavering devotion to his family and his faith. He was brave, leaving his home and all he knew in Widnes, England at the age of 21 to move to Canada where he built a life and raised a family with his love, Margaret. His children were truly his pride and joy, and he adored his grandchildren. His retirement years were happily spent with his two little men, Declan and Connor. Albert will be fondly remembered for his laugh and playfulness; his love of Jamesons, gardening, reading, and Coronation Street; his always “helpful” suggestions, and above all, his steadfast devotion to his family. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Coutts Funeral Home, 96 St. Andrews Street, Cambridge 519-621-1650 from 6 - 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will take place the following day, on Thursday, February 2, 2017 from St. Gregory's Parish, 10 St. Gregory's Drive, Cambridge at 11 a.m with cremation to follow. As expressions of sympathy, donations made in Albert's memory to The Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation - Medical Daycare would be greatly appreciated. A very special thank you to nurses Agnes, Becky and Abby, Dr. Healy, Dr. Kuk and Dr. Wong along with all of the staff of the Cambridge Medical Daycare. Your care and compassion have been so greatly appreciated.
