

Born in Galt, Ontario, Allan was the son of Edwin and Marjorie McLellan. After graduating from Galt Collegiate in 1947, he began a distinguished 40-year career with the Canadian Bank of Commerce. In 1951, he married his beloved wife of 67 years, Isabelle (Jean) McLellan.
He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Allan McLellan (Deborah), Margot Haley (late Paul Haley), Anne Bell, Sara McLellan (Mark Wells), cherished as a devoted grandfather to Michael Haley, Meghan Haley, Maria Wilson, Mattie Smith, Melanie Bishop, Melissa Parkinson, Morgan Haley, Molly Kotewicz, Brooklyn Downing, Ryan and Paul Wells and celebrated as a great-grandfather to 15 great-grandchildren.
During his career as a CIBC branch manager, Allan and his family lived in several Ontario communities, including Port Credit, Kingston, Perth, Aurora, Port Elgin, Oshawa, and Peterborough.
Allan was actively involved in his community, contributing his time to the Presbyterian Church, the Lions Club, the Rotary Club, and the United Way. He also played an instrumental role in the development of the new curling rink in Port Elgin.
In later years, he and Jean enjoyed wintering in Tobago and travelling together on cruises to many destinations. For 37 years, they treasured summers spent with family at their cottage on Adam Lake on the Rideau.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the medical staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital (Charlton Campus) for their care and compassion. They also wish to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. Emma Mazurek, his family physician, for her unwavering dedication, guidance, and kindness throughout his journey. Sincere appreciation is extended as well to the staff and residents of Highgate Residence in Ancaster for their warmth, camaraderie, and support over the past seven years.
A Funeral Service to celebrate his life will take place at the T. Little Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, Cambridge (519-623-1290) on Wednesday, May 13th at 11 am.
