

Polzin, Arnold Douglas of Cambridge, Ontario passed away on December 9th at Centenary Hospital, Toronto with his family by his side in his 91st year. A member of the greatest generation, he was a hero to his family, his friends, and his country. Treasured husband of Rhoda and loving father of Nancy, Doug (Marilyn), Ian (Karen), and Sandy (Audrey). Cherished grandfather of Sarah, Laura, Danielle, Alexandra, Alexander and Maximilian. Dear brother of Raymond (Audrey), the late Carl (Trudy), the late Burt (Pat) and the late Marion (late Don). Arnold was loved and will be sadly missed by dear friends Moses (Jayne), Gregg (Claudette) and his great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Born in Mossbank, Saskatchewan to Barbara and Lurie Polzin his family migrated to Ontario in the 1930s. He enlisted in the army at age 16 and served in the tank corps in Europe during World War II. After the war, he earned the friendship of many colleagues as a CNR conductor for over thirty years. Arnold's greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and friends he was a caring and kind man who brought a smile to the face of anyone he met he will be dearly missed. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 27th from 10am to 11am, followed by a funeral service and reception at Knox Presbyterian Church, 2 Grand Avenue, Cambridge. Interment to follow mid-summer. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the Veterans Emergency Transition Services (www.vetscanada.org/donate.php), Scarborough and Rouge Hospital Centenary (www.TSHFoundation.ca), or a charity of your choice.
