It is with the heaviest of hearts and great sadness that we announce Christine’s passing on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at the age of 46. Christine is the loving mother of Ashley Nicholson, Nichole Nicholson, Amy Nicholson and Madison Belfour, proud and devoted Nana of Abby and Benjamin Scriver and Emilee Nicholson, beloved daughter of Karen Edwards and dearest sister and friend to Alishia Belfour and brother Matthew Belfour. Christine will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by her extended family and friends, including her closest friend and honourary sister, Jessica Forbes.
Christine was an outgoing, free spirit with a heart of gold. Nothing was as important to Christine as her family was. She loved her children and grandchildren more than anything and valued the relationships she had with each of them. Christine would do anything she could to keep everyone together, even recently taking her grandchildren in to live with her. She was so proud to be a Nana and cherished this time with her grandchildren. As much as she loved her family, she cared just as deeply for those around her. Christine loved to help others, especially those more vulnerable within her own community experiencing homelessness, addiction and promoting mental health awareness. Christine was known to make and deliver meals to those in need, she felt a duty to help where and how she could and to be a listening ear for those who may not have one. Even to those she wasn’t related to, she was always able to make others feel like family. Christine also had a deep and personal connection with God, something that has been even more important and brought great comfort to her in recent years. Christine was also artistic and loved to colour and sing – many people love to sing but Christine could really sing. She had a beautiful singing voice and is already missed so much.
Due to the current Covid restrictions, a private Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 2 p.m. All are welcome to join and view the live broadcast of the service by visiting the Coutts Funeral Home webpage.
Christine struggled and dealt with chronic pain for many years. In her memory please consider a donation to The Canadian Mental Health Association or to the Cambridge Shelter Corporation (The Bridges). Donations can be made in many forms, monetary, clothing, food, whatever is within your means. This is something so close to Christine’s heart and would be greatly appreciated.
A very special thank you to personal friend and Pastor Wendy Noll. Thank you for all you’ve done and having you to officiate Christine’s service means more than we could ever express.
