David John Kavanagh

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of David on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at the age of 24. Beloved son to David (Kim) Barrett and Tina Kavanagh, loving grandson to Kenneth Barrett, Helena Kavanagh and Dave and Pat Couttie, dear brother to Teigan (Jesse) and Kaitlyn (Rafael), special uncle to Jayden and Jaxon and special cousin to Dwayne and Silvana (Mama and Papa bear) and Kristen Kavanagh. Predeceased by Grandmother Florence Barrett, Grandfather Kevin Kavanagh, uncle Eddie and dear friend Jeremy. He will be sadly missed and forever remembered by his large extended family and many friends. Anyone that knew David will remember what a great sense of humour he had, he was always making those around him laugh. A man with a big heart, he would do anything he could to help those close to him as he was very protective of his friends and family. David loved skateboarding, playing basketball and ATV riding. He is loved by so many, and is already missed terribly. Friends and family will be received on Friday, October 20, 2017 from 6-9 p.m. at Coutts Funeral Home, 96 St. Andrews Street, Cambridge (519-621-1650). A Funeral Service will take place the following day on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Central Presbyterian Church, 7 Queen's Square, Cambridge at 2 p.m. with one hour of visitation beginning at 1 p.m. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations made in David's memory to Westover Treatment Centre would be greatly appreciated.
