

Deborah Ann Brighton (née Colling) passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on May 26,2026. Beloved wife of Colin Brighton, and devoted mother to Erin Esch (Rob) and Jessica Durham (Michael). Cherished Grandma to Emily, Abigayle, Riley, and Avery, who brought endless joy to her life.
Deborah was the loving daughter of the late Alvin and Joan Colling, and sister to the late Sandra Scherba (Brian).
She dedicated her career to caring for others as a nurse and through her work with the CCAC of Peel, where her compassion and kindness touched many lives.
Outside of work, Deborah found happiness in gardening, baking, family gatherings, and making treasured memories on many trips to Disney with those she loved most. Deborah will be remembered for her warm heart, caring spirit, and the deep love she had for her family and friends. She will be greatly missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.
The family would also like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at University Gates for the kindness, compassion, and support shown to Deborah and her family during her care. Their dedication and warmth will always be remembered and deeply appreciated.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Coutts Funeral Home, 96 St. Andrew’s Street, Cambridge on Friday, June 5 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A memorial service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, with a reception to immediately follow. Interment will take place at Lowville United Church Cemetery at a later date.
