Predeceased by her husband Robert and her son, Robert Jr, she will be sadly missed by daughters, Carrie Anderson (the late Patrick) and Deborah Knowles (the late Rick Dutton). A devoted grandmother to Mitchell Knowles (Robin), Matthew Anderson (Jacey), Trevor and Jessyca Green and great-grandchildren, Austin and Carter Knowles. The youngest of four children and the only girl, with three older brothers: Lawrance, Donald and William, Bette was predeceased by her parents Franklin and Belle Haisell.
She attended Manchester School, Lincoln Ave School and “the GCI”. She took the commercial program and became a legal secretary. Bette fell in love with the clarinet at the GCI and became the first woman to join the Galt Kiltie Band, where she played for many years. An animal lover, especially cats, she spent many wonderful summers at Hillside Lake Park with her family. After Bob retired, they became avid birdwatchers and took many fun day trips together. A member of Trinity Anglican Church for more than 60 years, Bette was inspiring with the strength of her faith.
Special thank you to the staff at Riverbend and Innisfree for their loving care.
