Ellen Louise Wooldridge

Ellen was a loving aunt to Ruth (James) Rivers, David (Michele) Willis, Alan (Cindy) Willis, Louise (Brian) Reid, Clarence (Shelly) Ellis and June (Gary) Conohan.

She was a cherished great-aunt to Christopher (Cheryl) Rivers, Kimberly Moore (Mark Vogelaar), Victoria (Mike) Gammage, Adam (Megan) Schmidt, Felicia Dal Bello-Willis (Joel Weber), Taylor (Liam) O'Donnell, Kaitlyn Willis (Nate Bryant), Jeffrey Reid, Emily Reid (Matt McKinnon) and Samuel Ellis.

Ellen is also survived by her sister-in-law, Elaine Wooldridge. She will be lovingly remembered by her many great-great-nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.

Predeceased by her parents, Louisa and Samuel Wooldridge; her twin sister, Marion (Melvin) Willis; her sister, Margaret (Alden) Ellis; and her brothers, Clarence and Ross Wooldridge.

Ellen dedicated more than 35 years of her career to nursing, serving as Head Nurse in the Urology Department at Hamilton General Hospital until her retirement. Prior to her nursing career, she taught in a one-room schoolhouse. During her college years, she enjoyed playing basketball and remained active throughout her life. In her later years, she found great enjoyment in curling, lawn bowling, and skiing. She was an avid sports fan, particularly when it came to hockey, and loved travelling whenever she had the opportunity.

Although she spent much of her life in Ontario, Prince Edward Island always held a special place in Ellen's heart. Born there, she treasured her roots and often spoke fondly of home. It is fitting that she will return to Prince Edward Island, where she will be laid to rest.

In keeping with Ellen's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date, with details to be announced in the coming weeks.
