Gilles Joseph Mercier

Passed away at Cambridge Memorial Hospital on July 24th, 2016 at the age of 74. Loving Husband of 53 years to Geraldine (nee English). Cherished Dad to Maurice (Michelle), Diane (Darran) Eberth and Susan (2013) (Jack)Leite. Special Poppy to Veronica, Jennifer (Phillip), Diane (Kevin), Brandi (Paul), Ryan, Eric, Matthew, Nicole, Melissa, Andrew and Great Poppy to Jeffery. Forever remembered by siblings Paul, Pauline, Louise (Gerald), Anna, Francine (Emilien), Lucie (Michel) and Claire (Claude). Brother in law to Paul Raymond, Betty (Ken), John, Marc and Mariette. Gilles will be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by parents Henri and Marie-Anne, brother Earnest, sister Rita, sisters in law Marion and Kay, and brothers in law Armond and Tom. Gilles worked at Walker Exhaust for 38 years in Cambridge. Family will receive guests at T. LITTLE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 223 Main Street, Cambridge (519-623-1290) on Friday July 29th, 2016 for memorial visitation from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Prayers will be said at 8:00pm. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Patrick’s Parish, 53 Wellington Street, Cambridge on Saturday July 30th, 2016 at 11am. Inurnment to follow at Mount View Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Cambridge Memorial Hospital-Medical Daycare or St. Vincent de Paul.
