While he will be missed here, heaven became a brighter place when Herb arrived, where Barb was waiting with open arms.

I worked with Herbie in Preston for a few years. It was a pleasure. .I think we had more fun than we were supposed to be having but it made going to work enjoyable. ..Sorry to hear about his passing. .He will be remembered.

I worked with Herb in the early year's of the Cambridge Fire Department and we had a great time, fishing, the odd drink's{????} There  was lot's of joking around and when the alarm rang our shift was at it's peak, with Herb leading the way.    I don't remember a time in my life that I did not know Herb. He was always with my older Brother Dick Tone from the time I can remember, until my Brother passed. He was really a great man, and good friend to my Family to this day.

To the entire Eitel Clan, I am so sorry for your loss.  
Although I have not seen Herb in many years, I still remember his smiling face and some sort of funny comment way back to when he coached us in hockey with Dick Tone!
He will be greatly missed I am sure.

I was sorry to hear about Herb's passing.  He was a good man, friend and neighbour.  I remember his quiet sense of humour.  My best memory is of he and my Dad (Scotty) comparing, and sometimes arguing, about whose tomatoes in their respective gardens were the biggest and the best.  His family and friends will miss him, but the memories will keep his presence near.  

I first met Herb in 2005 when I started dating Richard. When we became engaged and later married, with the inevitable Eitel humor, Herb  referred to me as Richard's English war bride.  I have fond memories of Herb up at the French River and at various family and friends' parties and celebrations. Herb was a great family man and now he is in a far better place where the birds are always singing, the bees are forever buzzing and every day is a glorious day.

There are so many family memories .... but what I remember most is uncle Dick and Herbie taking me to the horse races when I was no more than 5 or 6 and they taught me how to bet. He will be greatly missed by many. 

   Thank you for all the fun vacations at the French River and growing pumpkins in your garden for us every Halloween .  We will both miss you Great Grandpa Herb.                                                                                     

Herb never called me by my real name Lise. He preferred    " The Former Miss Saskatchewan". It all started while curling. Can't remember exactly which of the boys started it but Herb kept it going for several years. Always a grin when he said it. A very fond memory of him. RIP Herb
