Passed away peacefully, with family by his side, on Friday, May 15, 2026 at Saint Luke’s Place in Cambridge, Ontario at the age of 95. Predeceased by his wife Frances. Cherished father of John and his wife Marilyn, and predeceased by his son Michael. Survived by his daughter-in-law Trudy. Proud Poppy of Lauren (Nick), Tyler (Ashley), Colton (Felicia), and Bailey (Tyler). Loving Old-Poppy of Clara, Olivia, Wayne, Callum, Mikaela, and Inessa.
Herb had a great long life and served his country and hometown well. His reach in the community touched many generations in and out of the sporting community.
Visitation will be held at T. Little Funeral Home (223 Main Street, Cambridge) on Thursday, May 28, 2026 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 7:00 – 9:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, May 29, 2026 from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm at the South Waterloo Naval Veterans Association (30 Cambridge Street, Cambridge). Words of Remembrance will be shared at 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Building Fund at Saint Luke’s Place.
