Stewart passed away, peacefully, at the remarkable age of 93 in Cambridge, Ontario.
Predeceased by his beloved wife Doreen (Wright) of over 60 years.
Loving and supportive father to Derek (Jane) and Judie (late Ross).
Cherished “Grandad” to Stewart, Brian, Curt, Debra Lee, Rebecca, Mike and Jamie.
Special “Great Grandad” to fourteen great grandchildren.
Predeceased by his brother Alex and remembered lovingly by his sister Janet (Gibb).
Stewart was born in the city of Westmount, Quebec, joined the RCAF and served overseas as a bomber pilot in the Second World War. Work took the family from Montreal to Granby, Quebec; Toronto and then retirement in Cambridge.
He was an avid golfer, curler and bridge player. Stewart was a true “gentleman” being known to most of us as “Grandad”. We have all been blessed to have known and shared in the life of this very special man.
Cremation has occurred and a Celebration of Life will be held at Coutts Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 96 St. Andrews Street, Cambridge on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 3p.m.
In lieu of flowers, Grandad’s favourite charity was The Salvation Army.
