Jose Leonardo Oliveira Martins

With great sadness, we announce that Jose passed away peacefully at Freeport Hospital, Kitchener on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at the age of 80. Beloved husband of Alda Isabella Martins for 58 years. Loving father of Johnny and Grace Martins, Cidalia Martins, Gilda Martins, and Mike and Goretti Martins. Devoted Vavo to grandchildren; Diana and Josh, Devin, Victoria and Hugo, Gregory, Krysten, Tatiana, Mackenzie, Xavier, Faith, Christopher, Corey and proud Vavo to great-grandson Xavier. He will be lovingly remembered by his sister and brother in-law Maria das-Merces and Tony Andrade and all his nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Special thanks to the Home Care Angels; Penny Murphy, Kelly Hendrickson and Lindsay Marshall and all the palliative care nurses and staff at Freeport Hospital.

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life Gathering will take place at the T. Little Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 223 Main Street, Cambridge (519-623-1290) on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 from 2 – 4 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations in Jose’s memory to the Cambridge Humane Society would be appreciated by the family.
