

Survived by wife, Carmen; children Ana and Rick Wylie, Carmen and Alan Finlay, Joe and Kelly Carvalho and Lori and Rob Warburton; grandchildren, Chris and Nicki, Tara and Joey, Brandon and Michaela, Bret and Chelsea, Cody and Alex; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Savannah, Chelsea, Isabella and David; five brothers, John and Beth; Frank and Blanche; Henry and Lucy; Tony; and Edmund and Lucy, and one sister, Lidia; sisters-in-law Rosa; Corolia; brother-in-law Fernando, and by many nieces, nephews.
Predeceased by his parents, Jose and Corolina; two brothers, Eleuterio and Jose; and one sister, Maria; sister-in-law Carmelia; and brothers-in-law Jose, and Salvatino.
Manuel was born in Sao Miguel, Portugal and immigrated to Canada in 1957. He retired from J.M. Schneider’s, was a long time custodian of Knox Presbyterian Church and Galt Brass (Cambridge Brass). Manuel was a long time parishioner of St. Gregory’s R.C. Church and lifetime member of The Knights of Colombus.
A very special thank you to the amazing staff of Stirling Heights Long Term Care Home, who loved and cared for our father for the last few years and in his final days went above and beyond to make us feel at home.
After 92 fulsome years, the good Lord has cast his line and made an amazing catch of his own. May your wine glass forever be full, Manny.
Visitation at Coutts and Son Funeral Home, Thursday, August 1, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Private family interment to take place August 16.
