Milton George Williams of Cambridge, Ontario passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at 91 years old. He was born on July 17, 1935, in Kingston, Jamaica. He emigrated to Leeds, England, lived there for a few years, and then settled in Canada with his wife Delores and their six children - Valerie, John, Patricia, Jennifer, Jeffery, and Derek.
On Milton’s first trip to Canada to set up a home for his family, he met his dear friends, Brendan (predeceased) and Maria Kelly. They introduced him to their Catholic church which became an integral part of his life. He loved singing with the choir at St. Clement’s Church. His claim to fame was that he was never late for a performance or rehearsal in over 38 years!
Friends and neighbours described Milton as kind, loving and generous with a good sense of humour. He assisted his mother-in-law for many years, both at her home and then at her assisted living residence. The staff appreciated his cheerful demeanor and consistency; acts of service were important to him.
He loved to sit in the courtyard of his building wearing his Tilley hat while chatting with his neighbours or socializing with the ladies in the coffee shop after his workout sessions at the Fairview Seniors Community Centre. He worked out three times a week with his good friend Jim Graham. It was an activity he really enjoyed and he rarely missed an opportunity to go.
Milton loved watching wrestling on TV every Friday night. He could tell you the names of all the different wrestlers and every plotline, which was quite a feat. He had an incredible memory.
He left an indelible impression on everyone he met, and he will be sorely missed.
He is predeceased by his parents Louise Thorpe and Milton Augustus Williams, and his wife Delores Williams (nee Campbell) and his second wife Barbara Gross, and his children Jeffrey Williams, Jennifer Williams, John Williams (survived by wife Deanna), and Derek Williams (survived by wife Sandy).
He is survived by daughters Valerie James (Philip), Patricia Williams and his grandchildren - Tonya Johnson, Portia James, Jerome James, Mathew Williams, Daniel Williams, Caleb Williams, Josiah Williams, Celia Williams, and Michael Williams. He will be missed by friends, close and far, his church family, neighbours and extended family.
The visitation will be held at T. Little Funeral Home at 223 Main St, Cambridge on Thursday, September 10th from 5-8 p.m.
The funeral will be held at T. Little Funeral Home on Friday, September 11th at 10 a.m. followed by a reception.
The interment will be held after the reception at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 2723 Victoria Street N., Breslau.
