Renate was born in Schlesien Germany, and later made a life in Cambridge, Ontario. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be remembered for her strength and wonderful sense of humour.
She is survived by her children; Winfried (Fred) Kranitzki Jr. and Nicole Cichello (nee Kranitzki); her grandchildren Alexander and Danielle Cichelllo; her daughter-in-law Mary Ann Krantizki (nee Thibodeau), and her son-in-law Frank Cichello. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Winfried Kranitzki.
Renate enjoyed gardening, cooking, needlepoint, family gatherings and her grandchildren.
Arrangements are under the direction of Coutts Funeral Home. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private ceremony held.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Renate's memory may be made to the Cambridge & District Humane Society.
