Passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday June 19th, 2013 at St. Luke’s Place at the age of 93. Predeceased by her husband Donald Smith (1991). Cherished mother to Jacqueline Keeler, Barbara Murphy, Anna (Gerry) Preusse, Chuck Smith (Linda) and Helena Beaulieu. Forever remembered Nanny to many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Sadly missed by her sister Dottie Somerton and best friend Hazel Hammond. Predeceased by daughter Doris Comeau (2000), 3 sisters and 2 brothers. At Rita’s request cremation has taken place and no visitation will be held. Graveside Service is set to take place on July 17th, 2013 at Norwich Cemetery, Norwich, Ontario at 1pm. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to St. Luke’s Place- Palliative Care.
