It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert “Bob” McLean on December 4, 2024 at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, at the age of 83. Born on July 8, 1941 in Galt, Ontario, Bob was the beloved son of the late Clarence and Loretta (Haid) McLean. He is survived by his cousins and close friends, whose lives he touched with kindness and unwavering support.
Bob was a proud and lifelong resident of Cambridge, growing up near Shade Street Arena, where he developed a deep passion for hockey and an enduring love for sports of all kinds. Over the years, he was a dedicated supporter of local hockey teams, cheering them on with enthusiasm and pride.
A man of faith, Bob was an active and devoted member of St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church for many years. His connection to the church and community was a testament to his compassionate spirit and steadfast values.
Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, 53 Wellington Street, Cambridge on Tuesday, January 21st at 11:00 a.m.
