Robert (Bob) William Robbins, 80, of Cambridge, Ontario passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 22nd at Freeport Hospital. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday August 25th, 2018 at T. Little Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, Cambridge, Ontario at 2:30pm. Visitation will be at the funeral home prior to the service beginning at 1:30pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to Diabetes Canada or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
Bob was born March 14th, 1938 in Mount Forest, Ontario. He was married to Eleanor (Orton) for 60 years. Bob was a life-long resident of Cambridge. After working as a heat treater at CMC-Ingersoll Rand for 30+ years, he founded Cambridge Heat Treating in 1982. Today the business remains owned and operated by his children. He enjoyed 30 years of cottage life at Conestoga Lake, where he and his family built their cottage. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed his remote fly-in fishing trips. After retirement he thoroughly enjoyed his frequent trips to Las Vegas and Niagara Falls playing craps and cards.
Bob is survived by his wife Eleanor and their four children, Randy (Barb), Cheryl (Bob Mortimer), Peter (Lisa), Don (Tracey), his brother Ivan (Thorman); seven grandchildren, Michele, Stephanie, Mikaela, Bradley, Madison, Jodie and McKenzie; three great-grandchildren, Jaxson, Zachary and Benjamin. He was preceded in death by his mother Helen Thorman, father Melville Robbins, sister Evy Robbins and grandson Chris Robbins.
