Robert Allan Wyatt

It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Robert Allan Wyatt on September 26, 2026, at Waterloo Regional Health Network – Chicopee Hospital, at the age of 88, surrounded by the love of his family.

Robert was predeceased by his devoted wife and lifelong companion of more than 50 years, Beverley Ann Wyatt. He leaves behind his sister-in-law Arlene, and will be lovingly remembered by his cherished nieces and nephews, Lisanne (Bill) Lloyd, Susan (Dave Cozzens) Heystee, Bob (Chrissy Laite) Matthew; his great-nieces Chelsey (Brittany), and their daughter Waverley; and his great-nephews Steven, Kristopher, and Tavis.

Robert lived a full and adventurous life, always with a sense of curiosity and a love of seeing the world. He and Beverley shared many memorable travels, including special journeys to Egypt and New Zealand. Together, they embraced life on the open road in their motorhome, enjoying road trips, camping adventures, and time spent down south. Some of Robert’s fondest memories were made on the water and along the beautiful coast of British Columbia, where boating and camping on the BC islands became cherished parts of his life.

Throughout the years, Robert called North Vancouver, British Columbia; London, Ontario; and Cambridge, Ontario home. Wherever he lived, he formed friendships, made memories, and left an impression on those around him.

A true fixer by nature, Robert had a remarkable ability to figure things out and make things work. His career took him to many places and included working in the Arctic and Norway, where he repaired and maintained medical equipment. He eventually combined his knowledge, skill, and independent spirit to establish his own business, Drilldoc Ltd., where he continued his work until the later years of his career.

Robert faced his battle with bladder cancer for more than 15 years, meeting the challenges along the way with strength and perseverance. In his final days, he received ICU services at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, followed by a stay in the ICU at Midtown Hospital in Kitchener, and was then moved to palliative care at Chicopee Hospital, where he passed peacefully surrounded by those who loved him.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the palliative care team at Chicopee Hospital for the exceptional compassion, care, and support they provided to Robert and his family during his final days.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes fond memories of Robert and donations in his memory to the Cambridge Food Bank.
