Born in La Scie, Newfoundland, Ruby moved to Glace Bay, Nova Scotia where she met and married Byron Bond. They later relocated to Cambridge, Ontario. Ruby worked as a caretaker, baby-sitter, and homemaker, and raised four children on her own after the tragic passing of her husband Byron. She was also predeceased by her son Edwin Bond. She is survived by a sister Doris Boone (Whitfield) of La Scie, Newfoundland, daughter Sherry Stewart (Rick), twin daughters Suzanne Bond and Shelly Bond (Marina), grandchildren Barry Byron Bond and Shauna Versloot (Dan), great-grandchildren Brandon Simpson, Tenley Versloot, and many more extended family members and friends. A graveside burial service will be held on Wednesday, November 7, at 11:30 a.m. at Parklawn Cemetery, 750 Fountain Street North, Cambridge, officiated by Lt-Colonel Melvin Bond and General Linda Bond (Rtd) of the Salvation Army (siblings of the late Byron Bond). As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Salvation Army would be appreciated by the family.
