With so many wonderful memories it's hard to know where to begin. Ruth Louise Schoop has moved on to a new adventure, joining her late husband Cal (2007), and our younger brother Richard (2020) in Heaven.
Ruth was beautiful, stubborn and strong. She was full of love, laughter, and spontaneity. From riding her stallion, King, bareback through the fields leaving her neighbours and parents wide-eyed at her daring to setting off from the farm near Walkerton at age 17. She moved to the bigger city of Galt where she met her soon to be husband, Cal Schoop, while waitressing at George's Restaurant. Dad was smitten from the first, and George's quickly became his favourite spot. Through years of hard factory work, often 7 days a week, she was able to provide joyous occasions and wonderful memories for her family. Her family and friends meant everything to her. And, oh, how she loved to dance, and watch those dancing shows. Even as age and time caught up, she danced with her walker when the urge struck. Now, "Ruthie Lou " is dancing in the stars...
Remembered with much love by her surviving children Mary Lou White, Gary Schoop and loving daughter in-law Carol; and the grandkids Jordan Schoop and Ryan White (Misty Byrne). She is also survived by her brother James Lambertus (Chris). It was a great privilege and honour to have her as our Mom, and the boys were so blessed to have her as their doting Grandmother. She did not quite make her goal of 100, but she did make her 100th year. Well done, Mom.
Special thanks to Meagan Kennedy (Geriatric Nurse Practitioner), Dr. Male & her team of loving PSW’s. Heartfelt thanks to Mel, Heidi, Lori, Liz, Mish, Nancy, Auntie Chris, Uncle Jim, Auntie Carol and Bill for your amazing support.
