After graduation from high school Bill entered the world of newspaper publishing in the 1960’s as a stereotyper (making press plates), then as a compositor at the London Free Press and the Kitchener Waterloo Record (Waterloo Region Record). With advances in computer technology he moved to an editorial position, retiring after over forty years in the industry. A lifetime career he loved and was immensely proud of.
Bill an avid sports fan, loved to spend time on the golf course; a highlight was achieving two holes in one. He enjoyed downhill skiing with his sons; and in his youth he played hockey and baseball.
The family would like to thank the staff of Fairview Mennonite Long Term Care Home in Cambridge for their love and care of Bill over the past nine months. There will be a private family gathering; a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity of one's choice are appreciated.
