Passed away peacefully at the Mill Creek Long Term Care Centre in Barrie on Saturday, December 8, 2018 in his 88th year.
Beloved husband of the late Helen Upper (2008) Devoted and cherished father of Cindi and Ron Studiman, of the Town of Blue Mountains, Shawn and Kathy Upper of Tillsonburg, and Lisa and Glenn King of Barrie. Adored by his grandchildren Chris (Kitty) and Kelsey Studiman, Lauren and Ryan Upper, Mac and Emily King. Wray also leaves behind his sister Anita Goegan of Port Colborne. He is predeceased by his parents, Vincent and Edna Upper, and his sisters Beverly and Barbara. Wray will also be deeply missed and forever remembered by his nieces and nephews, family members and friends.
Wray and Helen moved to Galt after Wray had spent three years in the U.S playing in the New York Giants minor league baseball system. He was employed at Galt Brass, Rockwell Automation and in his later years marshalled at Whistle Bear Golf course. He also enjoyed an active part time position as a baseball scout with the San Francisco Giants, Chicago Cubs and the Kansas City Royals.
Wray will be remembered for his significant contribution to the Inter-County Baseball league where he played 3rd base, managed and coached for many years. Wray was inducted into the Cambridge Sports Hall of Fame and was recently recognized as being one of the top 100 players for the Inter-County during their recent 100th year celebration. In addition to his love of baseball, Wray will also be remember for his passion for music and his beautiful singing voice as well as his love of dogs including the springer spaniels he trained for field trials and hunting.

A Celebration of his Life Gathering will be held at Coutts Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 96 St. Andrews Street, Cambridge on Friday, December 21, 2018 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. with Sharing of Memories held at 3:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Make-A-Wish Canada or the Lions Foundation of Canada Guide Dogs.
