

He was born May 4, 1932 in Harrisburg. He was the son of the late Robert and Carmela (Iadecola) DelSanto.
He was a 1950 graduate of John Harris High School and a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing softball and having coffee with his friends.
He had a lifelong career as a Police Officer. He worked for the City of Harrisburg for 20 years, retiring as a Lieutenant. He then became the Chief of Police in the Boro of Paxtang for the next 14 years, until his final retirement from service.
He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, where he also served as an usher. He was a member of the National Fraternal Order of Police, Fraternal Order of Police Capital City Lodge # 12 and the Retired Police Officers Assoc. of Harrisburg. He also played for the Susquehanna Twp. Softball Senior League. He was honored to be able to participate in the Senior Keystone Games with his team.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert J. DelSanto.
Surviving is his wife of 62 years Diane ( Guyler) DelSanto, of Mechanicsburg, daughter, Teresa M. Sowers, her husband Dennis, of New Cumberland, their children, Lauren and Lindsay, son, James R. DelSanto, his wife Nancy, of East Pennsboro Twp., their children Sarah and Joseph. He also had two great grandchildren, Luna DelSanto and Jordan Wine and a brother, Paul F. DelSanto along with several nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be Monday, August 10, 2015 from 6-8 PM, at the Neill Funeral Home, 3401 Market St. Camp Hill.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 225 Salt Rd. Enola, with viewing one hour prior to mass.
Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Mechanicsburg.
The family would like to thank the staff of the West Shore Hospital ICU for their compassionate care of Charles in his final days.
