David H. Wallett, 66, of Mechanicsburg, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2020 at the Hershey Medical Center with his wife and daughters holding his hands. He fought a hard battle and did not want to give up. He is at peace now.
Born July 27, 1953 in Huntingdon, he spent his childhood in Mt. Union. He was the son of the late Victor L. and L. Maxine (Hutchinson) Wallett Jr.; and preceded in death by his brother, Victor L. Wallett.
He was a wonderful husband, father and Paw Paw and will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
Surviving are his wife of 29 years, Janet C. Wallett; two daughters, Laura Lehman wife to Dillon Lehman and Amy Wallett; son, Ryan Newmoyer husband to Crystal Newmoyer; 5 grandchildren, Caleb and Lilah Lehman and Miles, Eva and Owen Newmoyer; and a brother, Robert Wallett.
Dave graduated from Mt. Union High School and completed a Bachelors and Masters Degree at Penn State University. Dave worked as an Accountant at DuPont / FCI / Berg Electronics where he met his wife. He finished his career as a Plant Controller for Amsted Rail in Camp Hill.
Dave enjoyed home projects, working in the yard, listening to music, lifting weights, spending time with his children and grandchildren, and taking family vacations to Wildwood. He excelled at Trivia and Sports facts. He could talk to anyone.
The family wants to thank all the Caregivers at West Shore Hospital, Harrisburg Hospital, Hershey Rehab and especially Penn State Hershey Medical Center. And, to Melissa our visiting nurse who was strong when we weren’t.
Funeral Service will be held 12:00 PM Saturday, July 18, 2020 in the Neill Funeral Home, 3401 Market St., Camp Hill. Burial will be in Rolling Green Cemetery. A visitation will be held 11:00 AM Saturday until the time of the funeral at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made in Dave’s name to Penn State Hershey Medical Center.
