Born on September 17, 1929 in Tupper Lake, NY, she was the daughter of the late Augustin and Blanche (Guertin) Mondoux of Bernardsville, NJ. She was the widow of the late Eduard von Jess who died February 1, 2002.
She retired from the Dept of Corrections Secretarial Unit and was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, the West Shore Y and Card Club. Also previously a member of the Mechanicsburg Senior Center Bridge Club.
Elsie is survived by five daughters, Jane Hatter (Larry) of Lewisberry, Ann von Jess of Lemon Grove, CA, Patricia Trainer (the late Dr. James Trainer)of Lewisberry, Elena Hostetter (Todd) of Camp Hill and Terasa Heckert (Lauren) of Seminole, FL. Eight Grandchildren: Rebecca Trainer Yellets (Rick) of Lititz, Brian Trainer (Robyn) of Texas, Amanda Way Reale (Paul) of Florida, Ashley Lesage (Edouard )of Ambler, Andrea Miller (Stuart) of Manheim, Caitlin Luxton (Michael ) of Denver, PA, Jason Heckert of Lousiana, Sarah Heckert (Chris) of North Carolina, and 11 great grandchildren. One brother: Richard Mondoux (Tootsie) of St. Regis Falls, NY, five sisters: Margaret Heimbach of Michigan, the late Marjorie Mangels of NJ, the late Irma Ort of FL, Carol Palmer of NJ, Doris Moore of NJ and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on March 31, 2025 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 3435 E. Trindle Road, Camp Hill at 11am. Visitation will precede mass at 10am at the church.
