Sophia Michalopoulos Foutres, of Camp Hill, PA, peacefully passed into eternal rest on June 5, 2019, her 92nd birthday, completing the full circle of life. She was surrounded by her beloved children and staff of the Church of God Nursing Home in Carlisle, where she resided the last three years of her life. Sophia Foutres was preceded in death by her husband, James Foutres, and a sister, Effie Simitsopoulou. Sophia was the beloved mother of her loving son, William Foutres and daughter, Marie Foutres. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Diane; three loving grandchildren, Dimitri, Demosthenis, and Sophia; and her granddaughter-in-law, Leslie. Sophia was also blessed to have two beautiful great grandchildren, William and Autumn. Sophia is also survived by three sisters; Hariklia Georgopoulos, of Greece, Nitsa Kouvelis of Chicago, and Georgia Spiropoulos of Australia. Sophia was a remarkable lady, full of grace, kindness, compassion, and wisdom. Everyone who crossed paths with Sophia was truly blessed to have made her acquaintance. She had the ability to enrich your life. Sophia was an accomplished seamstress in Athens, Greece. She also was an outstanding cook, baker, and her true passion was gardening. Her true love was being surrounded by beautiful flowers. Sophia; for twenty five years, worked with her daughter, Marie, at Jimmy’s Marketplace, located in the Broad Street Market. Sophia was loved by all those who met her. She also helped her daughter for seven years at Marie’s Café, located on the Carlisle Pike in Camp Hill. Everyone’s memory of Sophia at both businesses was that she would always try to feed small children sitting at the counter. Sophia was truly a very special lady! Sophia also worked with her husband at the Presto Lunch in Harrisburg, and with her son, Bill, at Jimmy The Hog Dog King, located at the Uptown Shopping Center in Harrisburg. Sophia was a devout Christian, who loved her church very much and was a member of the Ladies Philoptochos Society. A funeral service will be held Monday, June 10, 2019, at 11:00 am, at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 1000 Yverdon Drive, Camp Hill. Burial will follow at East Harrisburg Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 9:00 am Monday until the time of the service, in the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Michael J.
