Beverly was born on November 22, 1958, in Burnaby, BC, to her parents, Richard and Jean Johnson. She lived a vibrant life filled with honesty, humor, and fierce love for her family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Gordon Shore, who passed in March 2012. Beverly is survived by her three children, Breana Shore, Brittany Shore, and Brock Shore; her brother, Rick Johnson; and her five beloved grandchildren, Julie-Mae, Anthony, Lillianna, Chloe, and Mya
Anyone who knew Bev knew she was a firecracker. She rarely held back when she had something to say and always spoke her truth. Of all her passions, her grandchildren held the greatest piece of her heart, and she spent as much time with them as she could.
Bev had a soft spot for Tiger Tail ice cream, was famous for her endless collection of condiments, and loved tending to her garden. She took pride in growing vibrant flowers, especially her cherished sweet peas.
Her children fondly remember a poem she shared with them when they were young:
“One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Scenes from my life flashed across the sky. In each, I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of footprints; other times there was only one.
During the low periods of my life I could see only one set of footprints, so I said, ‘You promised me, Lord, that you would walk with me always. Why, when I have needed you most, have you not been there for me?’
The Lord replied, ‘The times when you have seen only one set of footprints, my child, is when I carried you.’”
In accordance with her wishes, Bev did not want a formal service. Her children will honour her memory privately at Storeys Beach at a later date.
She will be remembered for her fierce spirit, her laughter, and the unconditional love she gave to her family.
