Cheryl Ann Riddell

Cheryl’s life was defined not by dates, but by the love she gave and the memories she created with those closest to her. Her presence touched many lives through everyday moments, laughter, and enduring care.

Cheryl was a devoted wife to Robert Bruce Riddell, with whom she built a life centered on family, love, and shared memories. She would love riding in his 1976 Camero listening to The Cars.

She was a cherished mother whose influence will live on through her children and grandchildren. To her daughter, Jenny Riddell-Wehmeier, Cheryl was a constant source of love, strength, and guidance. She was also a loving mother to her son, Tyler Riddell, and a proud grandmother to Deegan Dilworth-Riddell, Makayla Dilworth-Riddell and Lily Monroe Riddell. Each of whom held a special place in her heart.

Cheryl will be remembered for her vibrant spirit and the joy she brought to others. She was active in the Ladies Auxiliary, enjoyed summer camping trips with family and friends, and had a playful confidence on the tennis court.

She was an exceptional cook who brought people together, a loving sister and daughter, and someone who never missed a chance to enjoy the sunshine.

Her many interests included her stamp collecting, treasured button collection and seashell collecting. Above all, she will be remembered as a non-judgmental, deeply loving friend who made others feel valued and accepted.

Her family will especially cherish memories of buying their first home together, raising their children while working, and their many adventures, including a trip to Alaska and fishing excursions to Muchalate Lake and the ocean—times filled with laughter, connection, and love.

In her final years, Cheryl lived with Alzheimer’s disease, which changed aspects of her daily life but never diminished who she was or the love she gave and received. She remained a wife, mother, sister, daughter, grandmother, and a woman defined by a lifetime of strength and love.

Her absence leaves a space that cannot be filled, but her life leaves a lasting legacy of love, memories, traditions, and stories carried forward by her family and all who knew her.

Cheryl will be deeply missed and forever loved. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Riddell; her mother, Esther Townsend; her children, Son Tyler Riddell (grand-children Deegan Dilworth-Riddell and Makayla Dilworth-Riddell) and Daughter Jenny Riddell-Wehmeier and son-in-law Hans Peter Wehmeier(grand-daughter Lily Monroe Riddell); her sister, Caroline Shillito (husband Howard Shillito; nephews Nicholas Shillito and Christopher Shillito); her brother, Johnny Townsend(nieces Melissa Townsend and Chantelle Riddell); her sister, Lori Malcom (nephews James and Jesse Malcom); her brother, Mike Townsend and wife Tammy Townsend (children Becky Honsinger, Brandon Townsend, and Kelly Townsend); and her brother, Dean Townsend (nephews Brady and Clayton Townsend).
