Born in Smooth Rock Falls and raised on Cape Breton Island, George was a Professional Engineer who spent most of his career in the pulp and paper industry before joining Lafarge.
A lifelong adventurer and lover of the outdoors, George travelled extensively and spent his retirement volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, the Adaptive Ski Program and his church.
George will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Ellen; son Chris; daughter Shelley (Anthony); and granddaughters Bethany, Madison and Reagan.
A funeral service will be held September 4, 2026, at 2 p.m. at St. Peter’s Anglican Church in Campbell River, followed by a reception.
