On Friday, October 24th, after a short battle with colon cancer, we lost a husband, father, uncle, grandfather, brother, and friend. Harry was predeceased by his parents Harry and Audrey Rounds and his granddaughter Arwen Macready.
Born in Regina SK, in January 1947, the Rounds family lived in various areas of BC including Prince George, Campbell River, Nelson, Vancouver and Victoria. Following his high school graduation in 1965, he began working for the Bank of Montreal. In November of 1965 the Bank transferred him to New Denver, a small community in the interior of BC. It was here that he met the girl who would become his wife.
Married in 1967, they moved to Trail, BC where he worked as an accountant at Cominco. The family of two became a family of three with the birth of their eldest daughter in 1971. In 1972 the family moved to Vancouver Island and lived in Sidney where the family grew again with the birth of their second daughter. They moved to Victoria in 1976. His entire career on Vancouver Island was working for a firm that assisted banks, law firms, notary offices, and real estate firms, to search various government offices such as Land Titles, Corporate and Commercial Registries and file legal documentation.
Harry loved to fish and spent many evenings in the Interior on little lakes or along small rivers enjoying this sport. Golf was another hobby we shared, but we spent more time finding the golf balls in the rough than walking the greens. His real passion was watching his favourite teams, the Canucks, the BC Lions and the Toronto Blue Jays. Unless there was another pressing engagement (and he tried hard not to have them) he very rarely missed a televised game!
Left to miss him deeply are his wife of 58 years Alice-Ann (Lana) Rounds, his daughters Teresa (Danny) Andrucko, Karen (Jacob) Macready, sister Leslie (Steve) Carter, and brother Rob (Michele) Rounds. Grandchildren whom he loved beyond measure, Justin, Joshua, and Lauryn, nephew Brandon, and of course his four-legged friend Max.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that you make donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Diabetes, or a charity of your choice in memory of Harry.
There will a Celebration of Life at 1pm on Nov. 22, 2025, at CR Vineyard Christian Fellowship, 2215 Campbell River, Road, Campbell River, BC.
