Hey… hey… ok, listen to me carefully…
Saturday October 18th at the Oyster Bay Resort Hall ( little quonset cabins on the highway near the Driftwood Restaurant ) we will be having a celebration for Dad from 12 noon until 4 pm. This will be a casual open house type of event, not formal, because we all know how much Dad loved getting all dressed up for formal functions…. 😂. So throw on your best sweatshirt n jeans, full camo cuz you went for a morning hunt, or coveralls because maybe you were pulling wrenches in the morning and you’d like to come share a story about Dad. Oh, and of course there will be snacks and refreshments there too, and yes plenty of coffee, as we all know how much Dad likes his coffee! David, Sarah and myself look forward to joining you with my mother Maureen, our extended family and all who attend in celebrating Dads life and legacy he has left behind for us to remember.
I would also like to remind everyone that this isn’t the end, and Dad is still here with all of us. Closure is only for us to start understanding what it is to connect with him again, in a new way. I know I have started and I encourage anyone who might be struggling or feeling down about Dad crossing over, to reach out and talk with people that knew him. We are always stronger in numbers and it’s hard to hug yourself when you’re feeling down.
Stay connected, stay focused, and most of all STAY SAFE!
Have a good night everyone, see you all soon 🙂
Chris
