Joy will be remembered by all that knew her, i went to her elementary school with her and she was my big buddy we made dances on the field at break and we would show our friends the day i found out  i was at school in gym and i heard people talking about what happend even some teachers i didn't know if it was true or false but when i got in the car after school my mom clairified what happend  i was so sad and heart broken i didnt know what to do eventualy when i became a big buddy at my school all i ever done was think of joy and happyness she gave me and all the amazing small memories we shared together  i think im finaly starting to fully understand now because i was so young and i didnt understand back then i was just 10 years old and what happend  i know it needs to be shared. Rest in peace joy

Joy was able to make my worst days turn to the best, i miss her so much she was everything to me and i feel so bad because i know i wont feel the same pain her family is going through and im so so sorry

I remember Joy. I attended 6th grade with her and we were friends. She was an incredible person. She brought joy into the room wherever she went. I started attending boarding school September last year and I lost touch with her. I just found out about her death and I am currently crying. I will miss you deeply Joy, you were one of my best friends.

I just finished reading about your beloved Joy in the Campbell River Mirror.
I wept.  I prayed - for you and all who grieve at this time.
I have no words that could possibly do justice to the situation you are living through right now.
I just wanted you to know that a stranger has been touched by your beautiful daughter's life, even through your tribute to her.
