It is with sadness and deep appreciation for a life well lived that we announce the passing of Kenneth John Eade, who passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the age of 80 after a two-year battle with cancer.
True to his independent spirit, Ken chose to focus on living life fully rather than pursuing extensive treatment. Throughout his illness, he faced each day with remarkable strength, courage, and vigor, continuing to enjoy the things and people he loved.
A devoted Jehovah’s Witness, Ken drew comfort and strength from his faith throughout his life. He spent most of his years in Campbell River, a community he proudly called home. As a young man, he enjoyed a period of adventure living in Australia, an experience that remained a cherished part of his life story.
For 25 years, Ken dedicated himself to serving his community through his career with Canada Post. He was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and the friendships he built throughout his years of service.
Ken had a lifelong passion for collecting comic books, finding joy in the stories, characters, and memories they inspired. He also loved traveling and sharing experiences with those closest to him. Together, he and his beloved wife, Ellen, enjoyed cruises and trips with family and friends, creating treasured memories during their 22 wonderful years together.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Ellen; his sister, Denise; his niece, Rachel; his nephew, Steven; his stepchildren, James, Kristina, and Jessica; and his grandchildren Lily, Holly and Joseph. He also leaves behind many relatives, friends, and fellow members of the congregation who will miss his companionship, kindness, and steady presence.
Though he is no longer with us, the memories of his strength, faith, humor, and love of life will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
A memorial service at the Kingdom Hall will be held at a later date.
