Martin spent his final hours surrounded by the love of his devoted wife, Sandra and their daughters Christine and Sarah. He was deeply loved and respected by Sean, Gail, Brandon, and Lance; his grandchildren Josh, Isla, Malcolm, Sebastian, Presley, and Maisie; his long-time friend Brian Byng; his HSBC work colleagues and various community connections.
Martin’s life (from Edinburgh to Campbell River) was led with a quiet and steady grace. He was known as reliable, wise, kind, thoughtful, and the perfect amount of cheeky. His role as Branch Manager at HSBC Bank Canada brought him to Campbell River where he became an active Rotarian until his retirement. His tenure as Marriage Commissioner also brought him great joy - even affording him the ability to officiate the weddings of his daughters.
He loved Campbell River and was proud to call it home.
We feel his loss profoundly, just as we have always felt the immeasurable impact he has made on our lives.
We would like to offer our most sincere thanks to the staff on telemetry, 3C, 3A and the various departments at CRG for supporting our family over Martin’s final months. Immeasurable gratitude to the wonderful staff and doctors at Hillside Medical (particularly Dr. Arielle Roberts) for their ongoing care.
Dad, we love you more!
