July 11, 1946-April 16, 2026
It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Paul, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be lovingly remembered and profoundly missed by his cherished wife, Mary, and his children: David (Melanie), Christopher (Alice), Catherine (Ryder), Matthew (Janelle), and Sunnie (Gilles), as well as his 13 beloved grandchildren, who brought him immense pride and joy.
Paul was predeceased by his dear son, Howard; his brother, Michael; his sister, Patricia; and his parents, Lillian, and Russell, all of whom he held close in his heart throughout his life.
Born in Lindsay, Ontario, Paul spent his early years in Oshawa, where he met the love of his life, Mary. They were married in 1969 and began a life together grounded in love, faith, and family. In 1973, with two young children, they embarked on a new adventure in Whitehorse, Yukon—a place that would become home and where Paul would leave a lasting legacy.
Driven by a desire to serve others, Paul trained as a Dental Therapist in Fort Smith, Northwest Territories. He dedicated many years to caring for children across Yukon communities, bringing comfort, skill, and kindness to countless families. He was deeply respected and warmly regarded by all who knew him.
Paul was a hardworking and devoted family man who, alongside Mary, lovingly raised their six children. His faith was an important part of his life, and he was actively involved in the Catholic community and the Knights of Columbus. He found great joy in the outdoors—fishing and camping across the Yukon, Alaska, and many parts of Canada, creating lasting memories with family and friends.
After retiring from Dental Therapy in 2005, Paul and Mary settled in Campbell River, where he continued to stay active working part-time at Home Depot. Together, they discovered a love of travel, especially cruising, and explored many parts of the world side by side.
In 2019, Paul was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, a journey that brought significant challenges but never diminished the love he shared with those around him.
Paul will be remembered as a kind, generous, and dependable man—someone who was always ready to lend a helping hand. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the lives he touched, and the memories he leaves behind.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
