It’s with great sadness the family announces the passing of Richard “Rick” Michael Frederick in Campbell river, BC on October 12th, 2025 at the age of 67. Born in Victoria, BC on November 4th, 1957, Rick spent his life doing what he loved — rebuilding, tuning up, and talking about cars. From an early age, he had a knack for anything mechanical, and over the years became a trusted friend and resource to the car community across the Saanich area.
Rick had an unforgettable sense of humour— the kind that could light up the entire room or make you laugh when you least expected it. Getting a serious word out of him wasn’t easy, but in times of need, he was always there as a supportive and loyal father, partner, and friend.
Life threw Rick a few curveballs, including a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis in his late 30’s, but he met every challenge with strength, good humour, and an unshakable spirit. He never let the challenges he faced dampen his outlook on life. He loved deeply, laughed often, and lived with a quiet resilience that inspired those around him.
