Ben was ahead of the times. Before there were instant replay tablets on the bench, Ben walked the promenade at Memorial Gardens with transmitter in hand giving instructions to the receiver in his sons helmets. Red Ouellette marvelled at Ben's supplement to his coaching advice.

Andrew - I am very sorry to hear about your father. He was an integral part of many lives for many reasons. The fact that he taught a bunch of teenagers to play an instrument and to read music deserved a medal! I will remember him fondly.

Please accept my deepest condolences on the passing of your dad.
Ben was a gifted musician and his passion for music was what inspired many of us to pick up an instrument, we wanted to be part of his band.  He devoted countless hours teaching us to read music and perfecting each piece he selected for us to play.  His marching band crisscrossed the province playing at various festivals and the goal was to one day be in the Grey Cup parade.
Ben made it happen, we always knew he would ! 
Rest in peace Ben.

Our sympathies to Alana and the Gaudet family. Ben touched so many, he will be missed, not forgotten. 
May your many memories provide some comfort at this difficult time.

Our sympathy to Alana and family of Ben, family whom we never met but we wanted you to know that Ben's musical talents were much appreciated both in what he offered to SSHS and the many students he encouraged, and also to the community band in which I (Jane) "began" to learn how to play the sax! He shared his talents freely and always had a joke or smile to lighten any situation. Hoping his musical talents have been passed on into his family who will miss him. 91? Wow! It doesn't seem possible. Hoping his music plays on in the great beyond!

Ben has gone on to God’s Great Bandstand. There he will meet again with many departed friends, musicians who have inspired him and, in return he generously inspired many students with his passion for music.

To me, Ben was always a great musician. I will always cherish the wonderful musical moments shared and the great friendly discussion even though we were living far apart. I admired his humor and the camaraderie.

Mes plus sincères condoléances à toi Patrick ainsi qu'à toute la famille Gaudet.

Ayant déménagé à Tide-Head j'ai fait parti de la fanfare de Ben comme trompetiste de 1979 à 1984. J'ai bien aimé sa direction, son sens d'humour, ses quelques grimaces durant les concert afin de nous détendre. Il m'invitait à l'occasion d'aller prendre un café après les répétitions. On jasait de tout. Mon épouse Pauline se joint à moi pour transmettre à tous ses proches nos plus sincères condoléances. Puissent les bons  temps passés en sa présence être source de réconfort durant cette période difficile.

Ben faisait partie d’un quatuor d’enquêteurs pour le fonds d’indemnisation du NB. Je ne l’ai pas connu comme musicien Mais comme enquêteur il n’avait pas son pareil. Un gars  d’équipe honnête et bon travailleur. J’étais le directeur et les autres membre du quatuor étaient Roger d’Entremont, Hector McEntire, et Enoil  Bourgoin. Il y a de cela plus 50 ans.Une personne importante pour nous à cette époque Comme il a été pour sa communauté tout au long de sa vie. Repose en paix Ben.

I was in Ben's adult concert band in the 1980's, and got to play for Prince Charles and Princess Diana when they visited Campbellton. I had played stringed instruments before, but this was my first introduction to wind instruments. I started on baritone, then swiched to a smaller verison of the baritone, which played in the key of F. I was present at the Rotary Club dinner when Ban received the Paul Harris award. I alon attended the Community band concert at First United Chrurch on May 24. That was very nostalgic! When I came out of that concert, it was raining, but there was a beautiful sunset and a rainbow! T thought, that's Ben smiling down on us. It was a pleasure to meet some of the family after the funeral, and to see the slide show of his long life. I still play guitar and sing alto in my church choir in Tide Head.
