The Final Mile
The diesel hums a quiet song. The heavy gears have slipped to rest.
The highway stretches, straight and long toward the sunset in the west you’ve parked your rig and killed the lights, no early haul before dawn, no chasing suns through endless night, but still your journey carries on. Through fog & rain, through ice & heat, you held the wheel with steady pride. Now smooth terrain and golden streets await you on the other side. The CB falls silent, the miles behind you with steady hands at god’s command you’ve earned your rest and reward. Keep the shiny side up may your fuel tanks never go empty on roads where skies are always clear. 10-4 Daddy, we love you (Big Pile).
