Raymond 'Sandy' Martin

Raymond est né à Bathurst mais a grandi dans la région du ‘P’tit Montréal’, ce qui deviendra plus tard Campbellton NB. Il était connu pour sa gentillesse et sa générosité. Dès son plus jeune âge, le papier était son bien le plus précieux, et avec son pinceau comme passe-temps favori, il est devenu un artiste. Son inspiration en tant que peintre vient principalement de la nature. Ses images, notamment hivernales, proviennent de sa vie dans la nature canadienne, notamment dans l'Arctique.

Ses nombreux voyages rendus nécessaires par son travail et, en particulier, sa vie extérieur et en forêt, l'ont aidé à voir la nature dans ses plus belles expressions. Ses plus grandes joies venaient de savoir que ses tableaux devenaient un objet de satisfaction à chaque fois qu'on les regardait.

Bien qu'il ait beaucoup voyagé, il était toujours chez lui dans les régions de Campbellton, Fredericton et Geary NB.

Raymond a été précédé par sa première épouse, Yvonne Blaquiere; frère, Bobby; et son chien bien-aimé, D.J.

Il laisse dans le deuil sa soeur, Lorraine Perron (Eugène Savoie); et son épouse bien-aimée depuis 40 ans, Sandra (Gilmore) Martin; huit enfants, Louise (Gerald), Sylvie (Michel), Michel (Loralee), Nora (Marc), Jessica (Jen), Melissa (Billy), Christopher et Sarah.

Raymond laisse également dans le deuil ses petits-enfants, Jacques, Justin, Melanie, Monica, Melissa, Melinda, Frederic, Kayla, Kevin, Megan et Parker; et arrière-petits-enfants, Logan, Madeline, Jamieson et Zoe.

Un service privé aura lieu le samedi 14 août 2021 pour la famille immédiate seulement.

With great sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Joseph Raymond Martin, also known as Sandy, at his home on April 15th, 2021.

Raymond was born in Bathurst but raised in the area of Little Montreal, what would eventually be known as Campbellton NB. He was known for his kindness and generosity. From a young age, paper was his most precious possession, and with his brush as his favorite past-time, he became an artist. His inspiration as a painter comes mostly from nature.  His images, notably of winter came from his life in the Canadian wild, especially in the Arctic.  

His many travels made necessary by his work and, in particular, his life outside and in the forest, helped him see nature in its most beautiful expressions. His greatest joys came from knowing that his paintings became the object of satisfaction each time they are looked at.

Although well travelled, he was always at home when in the areas of Campbellton, Fredericton, and Geary NB. 

Raymond was predeceased by his first wife, Yvonne Blaquiere; brother, Bobby; and his loving dog, D.J. 

He leaves behind his sister, Lorraine Perron (Eugene Savoie); and his loving wife of 40 years, Sandra (Gilmore) Martin; eight children, Louise (Gerald), Sylvie (Michel), Michel (Loralee), Nora (Marc), Jessica (Jen), Melissa (Billy), Christopher and Sarah.

Raymond also leaves behind his grandchildren, Jacques, Justin, Melanie, Monica, Melissa, Melinda, Frederic, Kayla, Kevin, Megan and Parker; and great grandchildren, Logan, Madeline, Jamieson and Zoe.   

A private service will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2021 for immediate family only.
