Richard Cooling

June 22, 1956 - October 28, 2026

Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 70. Richard was born on June 22, 1956, in Campbellton, NB to Irene Cooling (Firth) and the late Reginald Cooling.

He was a man who lived life with a quick wit, a generous heart, and a deep appreciation for the great outdoors and horses. Above all else, he loved his family fiercely. Whether he was out in the woods hunting, sitting quietly by the water waiting for a fish to bite, or lost in the pages of a good book, he was happiest when sharing his life and passions with the people he cared about the most.

Known to everyone as a great storyteller, he had a unique gift for commanding a room and bringing people together through laughter. He loved to tease, tell jokes, and bring a smile to anyone’s face - a playful spirit he kept right up until the very end. His laughter, humor, and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 52 years, Gail (Gallie), his daughters; Joeanne (Jason) McRobert and Sandra (Loran) Newson. His grandchildren whom he was most proud of; Dylan, Cassidy, Madison, Bennett and Cooper. As well as his special elephant child Judy (Gallie) King.

He is also survived by his mother; Irene (Firth); brothers Allison (Mary Lou), Dale and John (Brenda); many in laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was predeceased by his father; Reginald, his sisters Marjory and Christine and his brother Larry.

As a personal request by Richard, there will be no visitation or funeral, however there will be a graveside service to be held at the Dawsonville cemetery on Tuesday, November 3rd at 1:00pm.
