Dorothy May Parker took her final journey to heaven on November 19, 2019. She was born on January 7, 1928 to John and Agatha Anderman in Chicago, Illinois. She attended Trinity High School and Mundelein College and in 1943 met Lester D. Parker, a newly recruited Navy man, doing his basic training near Chicago. A romance developed that led them to marriage on February 19, 1947 and a life-long love. Together they raised 4 children and celebrated 72 years together. Her memory will be treasured by her husband Les and their loving children Randy (Ruth) Parker, Scott Parker, Leslie (Gary) Hall and Clint (Alicia) Parker. In addition she was blessed with 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren whom she adored. She returned to college once the last child grew to adulthood and graduated from Cal State Northridge with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. She embarked on a teaching career, teaching primarily Kindergarten students that concluded with 12 years with the Los Angeles Unified School District. Her skills were many, a wonderful artist creating many fine paintings and silver jewelry, as a seamstress making her own clothes and clothes for each of her children, and cook with treasured recipes that were much enjoyed by her family at holidays over her 91 years. One of her great passions was world travel with husband Les by her side, embarking on no less than 36 cruises and trips to 6 continents, including 2 cruises accompanied by all her children and some grandchildren too. She leaves so many lasting memories for all that knew her and she gave all the love she had inside for all her days on earth.
